History of Architecture and Design 1890-1939

The first video attempts to define the rôle of the architect by portraying the thoughts of Geoffrey Baker as he designs and builds his own house. Thereafter, the series surveys the progress of Modernism, incorporating studies of such key figures as Le Corbusier, Lloyd Wright and Mackintosh, looking at individual buildings to highlight their achievements. Other videos are more general in scope, covering topics such as suburban style, English furniture, and the problems of building contemporary mass housing.
